借助穷兵黩武示的大量展示新军事装备、大规模举行军事演习，在各敏感地区制造对立气氛来转移国内矛盾的同时，国内高压的态势却潜移默化的形成。这边，所有地方媒体不再是和谐报道，而是被从根本上剥夺了跨地区报道这一之前少有的可以打破地方保护的媒体监督渠道。另一边，嘴上名义上的依法办事，却越来越多的使用秘密抓捕、口袋罪名公开化，来大肆打压异议人士。
其实这一切表现，都来自于执政当局内部的不自信。不但他们不再自信自己能够继续执政，他们甚至已经不再自信自己是否能够和平下台。
经济下行的压力，让退潮后的中国，面临腐败带来的行政低效率和多年被催化畸形的结构调整双方面的不利影响，中国想要跳出这一波经济崩盘的陷井，依靠目前的执政策略，看不出一丝可能。
